But what if your standard is different from that of another person, or just willey-nilley? The bottom line is that some people cannot accept the "judgment" of another person if it forces them to to have to make a change in their life or their actions. Standards...'what are those?' is a quesiton asked by the world in their efforts to try and justify their actions.
Boy, this is something we could really sink our teeth into.
If you are imposing your standards on someone else that are based merely on your opinion then that is "binding" your opinion on others. Get that? BINDING!
But we are not to bind our opinions because ultimately God will be the judge. We can measure by God's standard. But we are not the creator of the standard.
Yup! It gets sticky. I know exactly what you are saying. People do not like to be told. And all of this is to be done in LOVE!
Not even a HINT of immoral behavior! That one gets a lot of us but opinion does enter in here but really-smell yourself! :-]
I think the Term "judgement" has come to incur a negative meaning through out the ages. A Judgement could almost be interpreted as an imposition of will over anothers. (ie... Judgement day, An judges Verdict, etc....) and supporting anothers decision is positive re-enforcement. Either way, you can't spell re-enforcement without force, and judgement is an imposition of will, so you can take your pick. I usually just judge people behind their backs, that way I don't have to judge their actions on a daily basis and shake my head in disbelief due to what turned me off to them in the first place and I'm also not forced to act excited when they tell me about the latest game patch for World of Warcraft or whatever else they love in life. Judge them once, when they don't know about it, and you save yorself alot of grief and heartache down the road. First impressions are great =) With my philosphy, let me know who looses on this one. We all win!
(A little off topic I know but this is where I go with these things)

Hum-m. Interesting.
Judging has a negative connotation and supporting is positive.
Nevertheless an action must be evaluated by a standard in order to determine your stand.
One of the definitions for judge is to look for infractions.

I'm afraid you are all way too deep for me... but I do enjoy the banter!
