Hang With Me Here - - -

So, let's get this straight: 'O' tells the plumber that he doesn't want to punish the plumier for succeeding, but rather to "spread the wealth around to those who were under him and helped him get to where he is" ! That's sounds like redistributing the wealth to me.

Isn't that socialism?

If 'O' gets elected, wouldn't it be the smart thing to quit my job, have Robert flipping burgers at Dairy queen and sit back waiting to have 'O''s wealth (And Bill Gates, and Barney Franks, and Ted Kennedy's . . . the list of millionaires/billionaires that live in the US is huge) re-distributed to me? And I'd better keep my house. And my cars, and every single thing I have now because as a human, I am entitled to all of them.

Doesn't that discourage success?

And to respond to Dana, no, I do not have the option to leave the country. That takes money. And I'm going to have much less of it after November 4th. The billionaires, however don't have that problem. What happens to 'O''s ideas then? Lot less wealth to "re-distribute."

I have always had a problem with this plan because those people worked for their money (well most worked for it). Who is HE to take their money away and give it to someone who DOES NOT want to work? Who will, like what you say, sit back and wait for it because hey, there is enough money in this world to let me sit back and get PAID to sit on my butt all day watching re-runs. The people already pay for child welfare and all the other programs that help people. Why do we need to put MORE money into that? There are already TONS of programs out there, and people are already using them, even though some shouldn't even be on it. I just hate this policy. Its stupid. =) and NO NOT off base!!!! Love ya!!!

Yeah, stupid is the biggest understatement. Barrack is a smart man. He knows that the 20% carry the country while the rest of us support the 20% in their endeavors. He is banking on the 80% being convinced they are disenfranchised and voteing for the money they are "entitled" to. And to respond to the Dana/Mom discus about leaving the country..there is no other country remotely as conservative as us. The world has fallen socialist and we are the last remaining conservative country left. Leaving isn't an option for conservatives. I however believe Dems can leave and go to any country in the world to get their "programs" quit bringing that crap to the US.

Okay, so you aren't going to leave the country. Pray, pray, pray. Fast, fast, fast. The Lord hears His people call out to Him. I'm yelling as loud as I can. I know we could sure use your help! Let's just hope this isn't a tough love lesson...

Okay, Jackie, here is your daily dose of left wing! First of all, Barack did not say the "spread the wealth line," that came from the mouth of McCain. Barack's plan states that anyone (individual, family, or business) that makes less than $250,000 a year will receive a tax cut. Anyone (individual, family, or business) that makes more than $250,000 a year will continue at the same tax rate, except for the top 1 or 2 percent of businesses that will receive a tax increase. We are talking businesses that make billions a year. Those businesses have been in a tax shelter for many many years and on average are paying less (percentage wise) tax than you and I. Barack's plan does not include using that new tax money for welfare, but for programs that he has developed to help pay for health care for everyone, help students pay for college, and others.

Some people are claiming that Barack is just pushing "Socialized Health Care", but here is the reality between the two plans: Barack Obama's plan allows everyone in the US to be eligible for affordable health insurance, whether or not their employeer offers insurance and whether or not they have a pre-existing condition. The reality of McCain's $5000 tax credit for health insurance is that very few families would be able to find decent coverage for less than $12000 per year, let alone someone with a pre-existing condition, who under McCain's plan would still be out of luck. Under McCain's plan, businesses that offered health care plans would be taxed on those plans, ultimately causing many businesses to drop that benefit, causing more people to loose insurance. We would probably end up with more people uninsured than are currently. The US has one of the best health care systems in the world, but with the fewest percentage of people with access to it. In my opinion, access to health care in the US is a RIGHT, and allowing working families who are currently with out insurance, access to good insurance will be good for America.

You talked about moving to another country, but most other nations have a much more socialized system than we do. Many European countries have socialized medical programs (several that allow full medical access for all citizens with zero cost to the citizens) and most of those countries have very good health care systems.

I am not trying to fuss with you Jackie, we are just on very different sides to this. Barack's plan makes sense to me. If I was in a very different place in my life, not worried about paying for medical care or college or if I had Bill Gates' money, I might see things different, but I'm not in that place. Please don't hate me!

(And no, I don't want to pay for abortions, but I think that if Roe v. Wade is over turned, we will be much closer to socialistic government control than with Barack's tax plan. Abortion is wrong, as a moral issue, but if the government starts mandating medical procedures (no, I don't think it is a medical procedure, but that is what the world considers it) it could be a slipper slope to almost anything - knee surgery, heart surgery....)

I have really laid myself out here - hope I don't get ex-communicated!
