I am so confused.
Obama.
Is he an American citizen? Is he pro black supremacy? Is he working to appoint way left wing judges on the supreme court?
Is he a socialist because he wants to 'spread the wealth'? He can't be, because the American people would NOT allow anyone with those real intentions in office . . right?
He says he is pro choice, but he has kids. He doesn't mean really killing babies . . he can't look at them and think that, right?
He says he's for all kinds of help to us under $250,000.00, but how is he going to pay for it? Will my boss (Robert F) have to pay way more just so my niece can sit at home with my sisters cell phone? That can't be right - right?
He's for health care for everyone. But if you don't work, you still get to have health care? How do we pay for that? Wouldn't that punish us guys who work? Especially Robert F?
Kim wouldn't back this stuff. Neither would Iris. Or Joe. Or Francis and Taylor.
What in the world am I missing?

Andy and I went to vote yesterday. The place was full with a line down the street. I felt reasonable sure the majority of those folks were NOT voting for Obama.
My only hope is that the "drive-by" media is so full of themselves they are dead wrong! One week to go -
Oh Jackie! You knew I could not leave this one alone!
First of all, yes, Barack Obama is an American citizen. He was born in Hawaii. His father was not a citizen, but his mother was. He could not run for president if he was not a citizen.
I have personally never seen anything that would lead me to believe that Obama is pro "black supremacy." I think that Obama is pro American regardless of a persons race.
It is true that the next president will probably have the opportunity to choose a few judges and yes, Obama might choose some who side with the left. A smarter president would choose moderates, but our country is so divided by partisanism, I doubt that he or McCain would have choose to remain moderate with their choices. Remember though, judges must be approved by the house, so his first choices might be rejected.
When the democrates say "redistribute the wealth" they do not mean that everyone has to put all their money in one big pot and it is divided out evenly. That goes way beyond socialism into communist ground. My understanding is that we are going to make the system more fair, tax wise, with those that make the most paying the highest percentage of taxes. You and I agree that the people who simply sit and collect their welfare checks should not get any of this pie, being that most of them don't pay any taxes to begin with. The people that this makes the most sense to, are the working middle class, who, because of the tax laws pay the highest percentage of tax.
I don't think that many people who are on the "pro choice" side are "pro killing babies." Many, many, including myself consider themselves "pro life/pro choice." I don't think that killing babies is right, any reason, any time. I don't however want the government to decide the issue. It is a very personal issue that I believe should be left up to the individual, not the government.
As for health care, under Obama's plan, there would still be the medicade system for those that did not work. That is something that is not going to change. What is going to change is that working families or individuals who could not get health insurance before, would have the opportunity to purchase health insurance at an affordable rate, much the same as the group rates that large business are able to offer employees. The people that this is going to help are people who work and do not receive any kind of government health insurance. These people simply do not have the advantage of working at a place where insurance benefits are provided and they can't afford good individual plans that are very expensive. This would also allow people with existing medical conditions to get affordable insurance that will pay for their existing conditions. The plan will revamp the health insurance system, which needs some fine tuning. The way that the private insurance sector is going, it will not be long before only the very wealthy will be able to afford quality insurance. Jackie, think back 20 years ago, when you and Robert were young parents. I know that you guys worked hard and provided for your family. Pretend that Robert had not been in the military, but your salary was still about the same, maybe a little bit more. You guys still worked hard, but neither of you worked for a company that provided insurance. Don't you think that it would be nice for you to have the option to purchase quality insurance at an affordable rate for your family? Right now, many hard working families don't have that option.
There will always be people who play the system. I see them every time I go to the grocery store, able bodied young people with their fancy cell phones and Coach purses, buying all convience foods and junk (sodas, candy, chips) with their loan star card. I look at my purse that I bought at Ross and my basket full of ingredients that have to be put together to make a meal, not chicken nuggets already cooked or fancy mixes. I get irratated as I pull out my cash and think about how I just helped them pay for their groceries. I think about Jack at church who has diabetes. He still works and is on his feet a lot. Medicare will buy him 1 pair of special diabetic shoes per year, but he wears his until they wear out, at least two years because even though he paid into the Medicare system for more than 40 years he doesn't think it is right. Then I think of Tamera Cooper who bragged last year about it being just a few more days until the government would buy her a new pair of shoes. She gets her's every year on the dot and her's have probably hardly touched the ground. I'm sorry if that sounded ugly, but it is the truth. These people are going to be there whether a republican or a democrat is in office. There are going to be people who think that they are "entitled" just because they breath. The Bible tells us that if you don't work, you don't eat (paraphrased a little..) and I agree.
I am not a democrat, but this year, I realized that I am not a republican either. I guess that leaves me independent, which I think is a good place to be. I will vote depending on the issues, not the party.
I think the next few years are going to be tough, despite who is in office. We are in two wars, we are in a horrible financial situation and I don't see anyone being able to wave a magic wand and make it all go away.
Just a few more days of politics and we will stop seeing ads and hearing about who shops where. You and I have both voted, now all we can do is pray that God will lead our country into better times and that he will use whomever is in office to direct us as a country closer to Him.
Love you!
I consider myself to be a very benevolent man and also with that consider myself to be a fair judge of character. If I give you my money/my time that is benevolence. If the government takes my money to give to you it is no longer benevelonce, it becomes servatude. I have always worked hard for what I have and have never looked anywhere for a handout, maybe a hand up which is different. An I do not have a problem with a hand up because it still puts the responsibility in your hands of how you better yourself. When the military said that they would take care of mine and my families health care it came with an awesome price, a price most Americans don't take the advantage of paying but which I gladly accepted, my very life. I said in my service I would lay my life down at anytime to protect the rights and freedoms for which our founding fathers said "we mutually pledge our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor. So was it free health care? I would beg to disagree. When I joined the Air Force we, a family of three soon to be four brought home a poultry $225 twice a month. That was in 1981, right when Ronald Reagan was taking over what most considered to be the worst economy ever from the infamous Jimmy Carter. He destroyed our military, economy and standing around the world in four short years. He should have stuck with something he knew, farming. I feel that Barak Obama will do the same if not worse and he should stick with what he knows, communitee organizing.
